UNICUS – Stoel en armnstoel van Prof. Matthias Rexforth overtuigen door de lichtheid in design en het uitzonderlijke comfort van ergonomische zitschaal. De gereduceerde vorm en zijn eenvoudige elegantie openen voor de UNICUS veel toepassingsmogelijkheden.

De fraai gevormde framestructuur onderstreept het vloeiende karakter van de flexibele zitschaal. Verschillende kleuren staan qua toepassing vele variaties toe.

De delicate vorm van de schaal in het kwalitatief hoogwaardige kunststof maakt UNICUS uniek. De verschillende oppervlakte structuren op voor- en achterkant maken een symbiose mogelijk van aangename huiselijkheid en tijdloze elegantie mogelijk.

Frame


4-foot frame featuring two continuously and evenly curved side sections from Ø 16 x 2 mm tubular steel in specific cantilever quality (ZSTE420) and connecting 25 x 8 mm flat-steel ribs that feature drill holes to accommodate the seat shell. The side sections are securely welded (clean joints) to the connecting ribs (through metal active gas welding), the set shell and the frame are connected by screws in four different locations.

 

Frame surfaces


Standard version of the frame: chrome-plated, optionally powder-coated according to the BRUNE ® collection.

 

Seat shell


Ergonomically shaped plastic shell (polypropylene) with an innovative 2-component “sandwich structure” featuring glass- fibre reinforcements that guarantee high levels of elasticity, toughness and rigidity, a slim outline and full recyclability. The dyed fabric has a lightfastness of 6-8 on the Wool scale (maximum value: 8). A non-slip coating has been applied to the interior surfaces of seats and back supports, while their exterior surfaces have a smooth and high-gloss finish, optionally with seat cushion or fully upholstered according to BRUNE ® collection.

Upholstery


Support plate for seat cushion made from approx. 4 mm thick laminated beech wood, featuring several layers of glue, attached to the seat shell with 4 M5 threaded captive nuts and screws. Cover fabric applied with the C-Gex technique, with no use of glue between wood, foam and fabric, optionally with fabric-covered fully upholstered seat shell on the basis of the ergonomically shaped plastic shell.

Seat / fully upholstered shell: SG/CH 35/50 approx. 15 mm thick

SG = specific gravity    CH = compression hardness

 

Armrests upholstery


Armrests optionally padded, 200 mm long. Fabric cover according to the BRUNE ® collection, fabric categories 3, 4, 6, 7 or 8. In case of padded armrests stackability is limited.

Frame


4-foot frame made from Ø 16 x 2 mm tubular steel (ZSTE420). The upper sections of the rear legs are formed (bent) with a R 27 mm interior curvature. 25 x 8 mm flat-steel frame ribs have been equipped with drill holes to accommodate the seat shell. Frame and foot support made from Ø 16 x 2 mm tubular steel (ZSTE420). The Ø 12 mm lateral connecting bars have been welded to the frame (through metal active gas welding).

Base standard chromium-plated, if desired powder-coated according BRUNE collection.

We wish you to point out that the powder-coated of the foot support can be damage by utilization, these are excluded from any warranty.

Prof. Matthias Rexforth

Matthias Rexforth (geb. in 1963) studeerde productdesign aan de Universität Kassel en kreeg in 1994 zijn diploma. Zijn Atelier x_products richtte hij in 1995 op en sindsdien ontwerp hij meubels voor nationale en internationale bedrijven. Sinds 2003 bekleedt hij een leerstoel voor Interior Design aan de FH Aachen. Zijn ontwerpen voor BRUNE werden onder andere onderscheiden met de Red Dot Award.
Matthias Rexforth woont en werkt in Krefeld.
